Sankya
We signed our first MOU with Sankya http://www.sankya.net/ on Friday, 11th June 2010 at Global Village for donation of our used computers which otherwise would get disposed of through e-waste.

Chander P Mannar, Rtn.S.jayaraman & Raja Shanmugam
They have distributed 4000 Computers till now to schools in rural and underprivileged areas. These schools are adopted by the local Rotary chapters as part of a larger school nurturing program.
The local Rotary groups also handle the training, loading of education software applications, Licensed OS and continuous maintenance needs of the installations in these schools.
After an average life extension of 3-4 years for these donated computers, they undertake to dispose of the systems in an environmentally safe manner.
So far from MindTree we have donated 180 Computers.  As a donor, we have access to their portal that gives complete accounting and life cycle history of every donated system.
Thanks to Sankya now our computers as being used productively and not just going into e-waste like earlier.

Sikshana
In Karnataka there are around 45,000 such schools. Many of them are unable to ensure minimum reading/writing/scholastic levels.
As primary education is one of our main charters, Sikshana http://www.sikshana.org who are in the space of Education reached out to us.  Sikshana is addressing this at a systemic level by augmenting what is already being done by the govt., through innovative management, training and resources that are helping to make a visible change in these schools. Sikshana supports around 400 schools.
MindTree has joined hands with Sikshana and we support 10 schools in and around Kanakapura taluk, catering for a total of 1000+ children at a cost of Rs. 500 per child per year. This initiative helps us to strengthen our Primary Education charter.
