Mindtree was the proud sponsor of the “Equality +20” campaign kick-started by The National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) to commemorate 20 years of the Disability Act of 1995. Rostow Ravanan, Head of Enterprise Service Lines and Key Accounts Group and Abraham Moses, Head, Mindtree Foundation, were present at the event which was held in New Delhi from December 1-3.
To forward the cause of these objectives, Mindtree sponsored the “Equality +20 Conference” where international experts articulated the rights of people with disabilities (PWD) in India.
A book titled “20 stories of change” – a compilation of 20 inspiring stories of individuals with disabilities from across India and how the Disability Act of 1995 changed their lives was released.
The “Walk to Freedom” rally organized at India Gate on December 3 to celebrate the International day of Persons with Disabilities saw a large number of people with disabilities taking part in the symbolic walk which sent out the message loud and clear – if encouraged and provided the right environment, they can also study, work and compete just as ably as the rest of us.
