‘Sleep Out’ to help raise important awareness and funds for Railway Children

On the 31st January, the Mindtree Europe team took part in a sponsored ‘Sleep Out’ to help raise important awareness and funds for Railway Children

Picking what was reported to be one of the coldest nights of the year… -3 and snowing! we braved the cold sleeping out on the floor of London Bridge train station. I can honestly say we were all absolutely frozen – all night! however it was humbling to think whilst we were able to return home to our warm comfortable beds, there are thousands who endure these conditions and much worse every single night

A massive thank you to all Mindtree Minds in Europe who supported us, with your generous donations, along with customers, friends, family and a matched contribution from the Mindtree Foundation we managed to raise a staggering £4,526.5! a huge amount that will go so far in helping the charity continue the amazing work they do.

Railway Children works with children who find themselves vulnerable and alone on stations and streets around the UK, India and East Africa. In the UK many of them will use the transport systems to run away from desperate situations at home where they suffer abuse, neglect and poverty. Railway Children work with British Transport Police to ensure they reach those children before abusers can. Having experienced how uncomfortable and cold it is to spend a night sleeping out, it really shows the level of desperation it must take for a young person to choose that over their current living situation.
