- NCPEDP and LTIMindtree, announced winners of the NCPEDP-LTIMindtree Helen Keller Awards 2022 on November 19, 2022.
- In their 23rd year now, the awards are among India’s most prestigious recognitions for people and organisations working to promote equal employment opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
- On December 10, 2022, a total of 18 awardees (13 Individuals & 5 Organizations) were awarded Role Models this year in New Delhi. Five of them received Special Mentions.
Story of Change
Being born blind, Krishna* had to face numerous struggles in his early years, especially in his academics. However, his personal battles fueled his passion to serve the visually impaired community, and on October 2nd, 2002, he founded Nethrodaya, a social service organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities.
Over the past 20 years, Krishna has made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of PWD beneficiaries and their families. His organization provides a variety of services, including education, vocational training, counseling, and healthcare, all aimed at empowering and supporting the visually impaired community.
In recognition of his exceptional work, Krishna was awarded the prestigious NCPEDP - LTIMindtree Helen Keller Award 2022. This award is a testament to his dedication and relentless efforts in the field of disability.
