Story of Change
Arvind* a 34-year-old male badminton player, contracted polio at the young age of four. Despite his physical challenges, he discovered a love for badminton after observing his neighbors play. He began competing in able-bodied tournaments before transitioning to para-badminton in 2006.
Arvind is a self-taught player who has utilized online training to refine his skills. With the help of key support systems, provided for by Mindtree Foundation, including nutrition, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and a nutritionist, he has become a formidable athlete.
In November 2021, Arvind participated in the SL3 Singles Badminton tournament, showcasing his remarkable talent and determination. His dedication to the sport has earned him the title of the current World No.2 and five-time World Champion.
Despite his physical challenges, Arvind has proven that anything is possible with hard work and perseverance. His story serves as an inspiration to athletes and individuals around the world who face adversity in pursuit of their dreams.
