Story of Change
Chinna* is a 78-year-old woman who lost her husband to Jaundice 15 years ago. She has a son, Kandhasamy, who is married and works as a driver. Determined not to be a burden on her son, Chinna works and earns a small amount to cover her expenses. Recently, she started experiencing blurred vision, but due to financial constraints, she couldn't afford to get it checked.
Luckily, Chinna heard about a free eye screening camp supported by Mindtree Foundation and Aravind Eye Hospital. She attended the camp and was diagnosed with mature cataract in her left eye. The medical professionals at the camp recommended immediate surgery and took her to Aravind Eye Hospital on the same day.
After a successful surgery and recovery, Chinna's vision has been restored, and she is back to her normal routine. She is incredibly grateful to Mindtree Foundation and Aravind Eye Hospital for their support and the life-changing opportunity they provided her.
