Story of Change
After the pandemic, many students in Ruchi's* school were observed to have irregular attendance. To motivate students to attend school regularly, motivational inputs, such as Stars, are awarded under the Prerana Program, which is supported by both the Sikshana Foundation and the MindTree Foundation.
The mentors and teachers oriented the students and staff on how to use the Star inputs, Peer Learning Groups, and the Prerana Club. With the goal of earning a star in mind, she started attending school regularly, participated in peer learning groups, attended Prerana Club meetings, and demonstrated her leadership qualities.
Ruchi's dedication and commitment not only helped her become the representative of Peer Learning Groups and the Prerana Club leader but also the only student with perfect attendance. Many students like Ruchi are inspired to earn stars and are working hard and putting in relentless effort to become better at their studies, attend school regularly, and maintain personal hygiene.
